In the 2008 season, Walter Thurmond was plagued by injuries and ended up with five interceptions on the season. In 2009, Walter Thurmond was hit in the knee in the game against Cal and tore three ligaments, forcing him to miss the rest of the season. Walter Thurmond was drafted 111th overall in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. In October 2011, Walter Thurmond broke his fibula and sustained a high ankle sprain, landing him on the injured reserve list. In November 2013, Walter Thurmond was suspended for four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. He returned for the Seahawks’ final regular season game and playoff games.
