Later on, he attended Sree Varma College where he studied commerce. While his father’s business got privatized, Kalyanaraman decided to set up a jewelry retailer in 1993. Today, Kalyan Jewellers is so popular that it has top Bollywood icons as its brand ambassadors. Most recently, it has branched out into property development through the Kalyan Group that also serves as a holding company for the brands of Kalyan Silks, Kalyan Jewellers, Kalyan Sarees and Kalyan Collections.
