In 1993, he became the offensive line coach for the NFL’s Cleveland Browns and followed the franchise when they relocated and became the Baltimore Ravens. In December 1998, Kirk Ferentz was hired to be the University of Iowa’s 26th head football coach. He has held this position since 1999. Kirk Ferentz and his wife Mary have five children. His son Brian was a starting offensive lineman at the University of Iowa, and is currently the offensive line coach at Iowa.
