Over the course of his Formula One career he had 10 wins, 23 podiums, and 14 pole positions. He retired in 1979, but continued to race sporadically through the early 90s. He worked as a commentator and served as the face of Formula One for a number of years. He passed away of a heart attack at age 45. Chris Hemsworth played him in the film, “Rush”, about the now legendary 1976 Formula One season.
