He became President and Chief Operating Officer of Ford Motor Credit Company in the early 90s, and then became a Vice-President of Ford in 1993. He now serves on the board of Ford. He is also the owner of Pentastar Aviation (formerly DaimlerChrysler Aviation), and the primary owner of the Detroit companies, Marketing Associates and The Ryder Group. He is also on the board of the International Speedway Corporation, and the former Chairman of the Detroit section of the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank.
