Currently, the company provides dental care, discount pharmacy coverage and health care to more than 5 million patients. By the end of 2012, United Health Group (UHG), a U.S. health insurance company, purchased 90% of the Amil’s shares: 60% directly from Dulce and Edison, and the remaining 30% from public shareholders. Moreover, Duce holds shares in Dasa, one of the leading chains of laboratories in Latin America, and Total Care, a private holding firm that runs directs investments in hospitals in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. She also spent some time working as an assistant professor in the Pediatrics Department at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where she served as well as an academic dean. In addition, Dulce established the Pediatric Rheumatology Service of the Martagao Gesteira Pediatric Institute.
