They released their self-titled debut studio album in 1969 on Elektra records. Bread’s second album On the Waters was released in 1970 and reached #12 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band released a total of six studio albums including Baby I’m-a Want You in 1972 which reached #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. Their single “Make It with You” reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Gates and Bread have been inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. He has also released eight solo albums.
