He returned to the Gators sideline a third time as the defensive coordinator from 2003 until 2004 and served as the team’s interim head coach briefly in 2004. Strong then returned to his role as Florida’s assistant head coach until 2007. In 2010, he landed his first head coaching gig at Louisville, where he led the team until 2013. In 2014, Strong was hired on to right the ship at the University of Texas. Midway through the 2014 season, Strong has amassed a 42-30 career win-loss record as a head coach and is 3-2 in bowl games. He won two Big East championships with Louisville in 2011 and 2012. Strong has two daughters and one son with his wife, Victoria.
