Having built enough riches, Anatoly Lomakin decided to switch to politics. It was in August 2012 when he started serving as a deputy in Russia’s State Duma as a member of Yedinaya Rossiya, the United Russia party founded by Vladimir Putin. In his tenure in the government, only one legislation was voted, i.e. a law banning Russian adoptions by U.S. citizens. Anatoly Lomakin stepped down from his post in February 2013 citing health problems.
